We've gotta take care of some business.
I've been super, super worried
about you guys.
Cold and flu season is fast approaching.
Please, Please
don't forget to get your flu shots
don't forget to get your flu shots
(then ask the nurse to put on
the Scooby Doo band-aid).
(hopefully that will guarantee that you won't get the flu)
However, the bad news is that I can pretty much
(in a whisper)
Since the cold shot
has not been invented yet,
I have been searching for ways
to make the common cold
a little more bearable.
I've put in many late nights, early mornings
and I have even resorted
to working lunches
so you will not suffer like you did
last cold and flu season.
Remember how icky it was?
Believe me, I know how annoying it is
to go through a truckload of
kleenex EVERY day.
I am so sad I can't be there to make
hot soups and steam out some
lovely teas for you.
So I did the next best thing.
I begged the husband
to share his genius contraption with all of us
now that his cold is under control.
AND. HE. CONSENTED!!!
(this photo not actually the husband)
Does it get any more brilliant
(or hot)
than this?
I know.
So, when we meet on the street
with our "contraptions" securely fastened
atop our heads,
I hope you know that
I am carrying an extra roll of t.p.
with your name on it.
(quilted, 2-ply)
Just in case you run out.
I know you would do the same for me.
(let's all give a shout out to Nathan. Laughing at Life's Little Wedgies first male follower.
Or, at least the first to come out and declare himself.
You can find him on the sidebar under "Are you sure you want to follow me..."
Thanks Nathan.
I challenge all you other men to do the same. ahem-- husband.)

I've said it once, I've said it twice..You ARE HILARIOUS! I've seen a few of those pictures and giggled, but when you put them all together with your witty commentary...Hilarious! You never cease to make me laugh.
P.S. I appreciate the 2-ply, that really shows that you care. ;)
I love your posts! Thanks for the good laugh! What a great way to start out my day :)
It is SO worth investing in Kleenex medicated/lotioned tissue for cold season. And I've never had a flu shot, never taken my kids to get one......but I probably should, huh? Especially with increased risk of ?staph infections? this year. (Isn't that true?)
Thanks for the reminder. I'll look into this today!
hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so funny! I wish people would wear those those things when they were sick, then we would know who to stay a safe distance from.
I am totally prepared- we are all scheduled for our shots next Tues. of course, with my luck, we will all get the flu this weekend! thanks for the cute reminder!
I don't plan on getting the flu, a flu shot or a cold. I haven't left my house in 73 years and I don't plan on leaving any time soon.
I don't know if I'm unlucky or if my pessimism does me in, but I get the flu every year, whether or not I've had a flu shot. Every Year. The best is when I used to get it right during Christmas break when I was in school. It made for a fun holiday when everyone else got to eat ham and potatoes and I got a nice pile of Saltines and some Sprite. Ah, the memories. Still, I'm a trooper, and I'll get in line once again for a shot this year.
Also, thanks for the mention. I'm all giddy with excitement that my name made it onto your blog. You're hilarious, and I love reading your posts. I'm especially excited that I beat your husband for first male follower. You can bet I'm going to rub that one in every chance I get.
Too true about the kleenex/toilet tissue. You can never have enough. Thanks for the chuckle!
well what can i say that hasn't already been said. mechelle is right....it would make it easy to tell who is sick...now if we could just get them to keep their kids home....that would be nice.
but don't rule out how handy the 'contraption' would be for those who have allergies....all.the.time. i better invest (or make a glittery one-maybe i could make onto the glitter gone bad blog) in one for ammon. maybe it would make a great christmas present. now that would be a gift you would never expect! or even better- maybe i could make one for the white elephant this year!!!! hmmmmm i'm laughing just thinking about it!!
Who has us for Christmas? Could it be Dirk and Marcy? If you happen to be reading NeeNee's blog, then, hint, hint...this would be THE perfect gift for every member of our family. Except Jacob--maybe you could put one of those blue baby bulb aspirators on it instead so we could attach it to his head, since he is still too young for toilet paper.
I totally need one of those toilet paper hats! Like now! :)
