When Saw We A Stranger?

A stranger showed up
at my dinner table last night.

She bore a striking resemblance
to middle daughter.
Right down to the cold sores
on middle daughter's bottom lip.

She was such a cute stranger
and since middle daughter
never arrived,
I fed the poor little thing.

She really enjoyed the corn and potatoes,
but didn't care for the zucchini.

That's a shame,
because middle daughter
worked so hard
to pick that zucchini
at the farm yesterday
on her field trip.

I think when that zucchini is made
into chocolate zucchini cake,
middle daughter
will materialize.

And she will love zucchini.
In the form of chocolate zucchini cake.

How cute is that? I take it you played the whole stranger bit right through dinner as well. Love it! Kids can be so entertaining!

Adorable! This brings back so many memories of how I thought I was being so sneaky and cool. It's a little disconcerting to realize my parents were probably onto me from the beginning.

You are a much nicer mom than me. I would have been so scared of a stranger at my table that I would have my kids saying, "Really, mom - it's just me!" Great costume though - she has a knack for dressing up!

I think the stranger just might be the middle daughter in disguise, maybe.

If you don't know what to do with the stranger, we'll take her. We need another daughter to make our family even.

how funny! my kids only pretend to be Dora, Diego, or Alissia (Diego's sister). For some reason my son likes to call his little sister Alice. I don't know why, her name is Emma. So occasionally, even though there aren't strangers at our dinner table, there are strange kids.

I think that someday I would like to have such a cute stranger visit my table. She is oddly adorable- thanks for the giggle Ellie!

that has got to be the funniest babushka ever! that's what she looks like to me. and you can pass this on to ran- (if you feel so inclined) why should you give her your stranger when she's on such a roll...she could probably have another one of her own.... hahahaha
