Tune In Tuesday

Welcome to
Tune in Tuesday!

We're just 9 days from a whole lotta feastin'.
Can't wait.
Little son was asking his friend today,
"What are you going to be for Thanksgiving?"
It made me smile.

Today, just one little order of business to take care of.
The winner of last week's Tune in Tuesday

Melody!!

Melody is the author of Life is a Bowl of Wedgies.

I promise, the competition was not rigged!
I do not favor wedgie bloggers.
Nor do I favor bloggers with wedgies.
Nor do I condone giving wedgies.
Even if you have no blog/wedgie connection,
you had a fair shot!

If you have never been over to Melody's blog,
you should go visit.
Like right now.

Yay Melody!
Happy Tuesday to you!

And, for all of you who wondered where this cute little elf can be purchased,
head on over to your neighborhood Kirkland's store.
Like right now.
Before they are all gone.

Lotsa 'Postrophes (exclamation points, really, but 'postrophes goes better with 'lotsa')

You wanna know what that wonderful man of mine got me for my birthday?

A leaf blower-vac!

I know.

Best. Husband. Ever.

Ever!

And I'm serious about that. He had plans to get me something really nice. Like, really nice. I had to put the kibosh on that, cause all I really wanted was a leaf blower.

A leaf blower!!

And I got it. Plus a vac!!

BONUS!!!

Again, I know.

Totally! Spoiled! Rotten!

Rotten!!!!

Now, if you haven't entered yesterday's giveaway----- what are you doing lingering here? Get your little cutie booty on down to yesterday's post and enter your cute little self! So you can win the elf!!

And, thank you to all those who have served this country to protect our freedoms. I could get you a leaf blower-vac, but somehow that just doesn't seem like a sufficient thank-you gift. Plus, I'd have to get a lot of those blower-vacs, and I'm not made of money, yo.

post-edit:
the husband brought it to my attention that this post has a sarcastic tone. oops. in all sincerity- i wanted a leaf blower. really. and i am thrilled he listened and got me one. and i love him.

Tune In Tuesday Giveaway

So glad you decided to
Tune in Tuesday!

In honor of my birthday yesterday AND the thousands of RVs and NASCAR fans that are rolling in to my town with their window flags flying for the big race this weekend, I am pleased to announce a giveaway!!! (If you are one of those race fans in the RV, hopefully you have internet access so that you don't miss out on this one!)

And not just any giveaway. A holiday giveaway. You know, a giveaway to get your holidays off to a great start. A holiday giveaway that just might inspire the beginning of a new tradition in your household. Because, the great thing about traditions is that any time is a great time to start a tradition. Any time.

But, there are a few conditions if you win this holiday giveaway. (Is it okay to have conditions with giveaways?) (I suspect that even if you can't abide the conditions, you could still win the giveaway)

Conditions / Suggestions:
  1. Welcome this little guy into your home, give him a name and make sure that he appears in a conspicuous place the day after Thanksgiving.
  2. Inform your children that this little guy is here to whisper to Santa all the good deeds of the children.
  3. Every night when the children are asleep, move this cute little elf to a new location.
  4. On Christmas Eve day, the elf should be placed on the Christmas tree to wait for Santa to come and to whisper all those good deeds to Saint Nick.
  5. The elf goes back to the North Pole with Santa after he helps Santa deliver the gifts and goodies to your home.
  6. Be sure the elf returns next year on the same day.
Fun new tradition, no?

How do you win? Just leave a comment. And if you want another entry, be sure to send your friends and family members over to enter themselves. If they mention that you sent them, you will receive an additional entry.

Contest closes Saturday, November 14 at 11:59 pm.

also...
Thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes. I truly had a wonderful day yesterday. My family made sure of that. I am so blessed. You'll know exactly what I mean if you happened to read the husband's beautiful words to me yesterday.

I love that man.

winner

Two words: Vision Board. Or is that one word: visionboard? How ever many words it is, all I have to say is that they work. And we all should have them. And I have known this ever since I learned about vision boards on a certain reality program. Although the individual advocating the boards wasn't successful in attaining the thing that she was desiring through her vision board.

How do I know they work, you ask? Well, I just know because in my head I was always thinking about making a vision board to win a certain giveaway hosted by Mormon Mommy Blogs. But I never actually got around to constructing that vision board.

At MMB they were giving away a bunch of cool stuff. But I was really wanting just one of those things. And I won it. And I personally believe I won because I was thinking about creating a Vision Board. And it would have been the mother of all vision boards.

So now here's the deal: I am going to post this cute pic of little son with the prize. And you will probably smile. Because you are human.

Cute Jaime over at The Dress-Up Drawer was the creator of this cuteness. (the cape, not little son- the husband and I are creators of that cuteness.) You need to hop on over to her site and peruse the cute stuff she makes. And she is fast. And so cool. Thank you, Jaime!

And you might remember that my camera was broken? Well it still is. So I broke out our old digital camera, dusted it off, charged up the battery and snapped a few pics. I could not post this without pics. Because, well, could you? (post about all this cuteness without an equally cute pic.) Didn't think so.

And you may also notice that little son is alive. The yellow plastic things did not injure him. We are so glad!

foiled...

so, remember that one time i had that one dream giveaway? well, it pretty much blew up in my face. i have not had a dream with one recognizable person in it (except the husband who didn't even enter the giveaway) since i posted that fantastic giveaway idea. and i am being completely honest!

i think i have dreamed every night. and one of two things happens 1) when i wake up i can't remember my dreams, or 2) in the dreams i can remember i have no idea who those characters are- total strangers. i have come to the conclusion that the giveaway really created a lot of pressure for my dreams. it's pressure, guys.

so. forget about the dream giveaway... for now. my best advice is that you should move on to someone who has a real giveaway, cause obviously my dreams just aren't producing right now. sorry for all the hype. i know you guys were way excited at the thought of starring in one of MY dreams.

but, i think i will keep this one on the back burner, cause who knows, some night i'm going to see a whole bunch of thin, young, perfectly-coiffed, spectacle-less, dressed to the nines, free-day-loving, magically flying, jessica alba-ish, independently wealthy, laundry-hauling, snow falling, pregnant ladies with chocolate and no gray hair and i will instantly recognize you. and then you better be ready for the alert that you WON THE DREAM GIVEAWAY! i have faith it could happen.

{{{embarrassedly (probably not a word) lowers head, kicks dirt, and walks away}}}

dream giveaway

giveaway? yippee!! because this is my 95th post.

hold off on celebrating the giveaway while i splain. this is not your typical giveaway. it is a dream giveaway- as in dream. like you do while you sleep. not dream like what you always wished for.

last night i had some pretty good dreams. as far as dreams go. the common denominator in all those dreams was that whoever actually called me (as in on the phone) yesterday found themselves in a starring role in my dreams. cool, huh? except there was the big guy in my third dream that i couldn't figure out where he came from.

and so what i am offering is a role in my dreams tonight. do you want a role? you don't even have to audition. all you have to do is call me. yep, easy as that. call me.

i know that some of you know my phone number and some of you do not. that is ok. for those of you who do not know my number- just call 555-3736. that should do it. and then, since that is not my real number but it is a great fictitious phone number because all fake phone numbers start with 555 and then the 3736 = drem because if it was dream that would be too many numbers so drem = dream, just leave me a comment right here on the blog and let me know you tried to call and i think that will be good enough. yeah, good enough.

now, you may be wondering how i will recognize you in my dream. especially if we have never met. well, this is the beauty part. in dreams, everything makes sense. you know how when you dream sometimes you assign the identity of a friend or loved one to someone who, once you wake up, you realize looks nothing like that person. so, of course i will know who you are right away. because that's how dreams go.

here's an idea. if you want to influence how your character looks or acts, maybe you could leave a suggestion for what you want in your comment. just an idea. i totally believe this will work.

i don't think anyone has ever done a dream giveaway. great way to celebrate post #95, no? we'll see how this goes. and i'll see you tonight. in my dreams!
